We’ve never been a sports person, but now our Vegas Golden Knights have clinched a spot in the Stanley Cup final, so we’re reconsidering. Bigtime.

It’s a story as unlikely as Las Vegas itself.

On May 20, 2018, the Vegas Golden Knights prevailed against the Winnipeg Jets, 2-1, in game five of the NHL’s Western Conference final and their place in sports history was assured.

Despite experts predicting the Vegas Golden Knights would among the league’s worst teams this year.

Suck it, experts, this is Las Vegas.

The Vegas Golden Knights’ success is all the more meaningful because the team’s journey has served as a way for our community to collectively heal following the Oct. 1 shooting.

Suck it, crazed manics, this is Las Vegas.

The Golden Knights will play either the Tampa Bay Lightening or Washington Capitals in the Stanley Cup final.

The Knights started the season at 500-to-1 odds for a Stanley Cup win.

Sin City has always been about defying the odds, and there’s no reason to think it won’t hold true when the Vegas Golden Knights hit the ice to bring the Stanley Cup home to Las Vegas.
