In reply to Dan Tana. My favorite was the Stardust lounge in the early 1970's. They had a show called "Bare Touch of Vegas," free-for-one-drink with live musicians, dancers, comics, and specialty acts. It was almost up to the level of "X" or "Midnight Fantasy." Many other strip resorts had similar lounge shows. The corporate bean counters fixed that.

I miss the days when hotels had real lounges with local bands that played popular music and you get get up and dance if you were drunk enough. At $22 per cocktail I’m not about to spend what it would take to get me to dance.
