]]>That’s an interesting idea. The Rio’s a high-priced dump, but parking is free. When we come to the WSOP, we usually stay at Gold Coast next door. Parking is free there too, and the resort fee covers the WiFi. If they move WSOP to the strip, they can charge for parking and also raise food, beverage, and other incidental prices across the board while they’re at it. WSOP patrons will pay it all willingly because they have unlimited resources and don’t care about being screwed over. Besides, what are they going to do–not come? (careful…) I believe several off-strip properties still have free shuttles to the strip, so that might also be an option.
]]>Yeah. Idea first started getting pushed within the last 3 months, or so. I think the hold up is the financing will be the same kind of doomed to bankruptcy, pie in the sky revenue model bond issue that built the original section.
